About JLC

Mission Statement

Jacksonville Lacrosse Club is North Florida's Premier Youth-thru-High School Lacrosse Academy. The organization is dedicated to Excellence in Tradition, Sportsmanship, and Community. JLC was designed to support our community's aspiring athletes and area Athletic Associations. It is JLC's intention to create opportunities for its members to participate as student athletes in college.

The Directors and Coaches of JLC are proven educators and have a reputation for developing overall excellence.

History

The Jacksonville Lacrosse Club (JLC) was founded in 2009, the same year that Jacksonville University announced its plans to launch the first men's Division I lacrosse program in the state of Florida.  With the initial guidance and direction of Div I Head Coach Matthew Kerwick, JLC has been implementing its vision to expand and deepen the level of lacrosse here in North Florida.

Patrick Harnett (Hofstra), Founder and Club Director, and Brian Duncan (UMBC), Co-Founder and head coach of the NALL Jacksonville Bullies, have expanded the program in 2011 with the introduction of North Florida's first Summer Academy program, Summer Box lacrosse, Fall Box and Fall Field Academies, and more.

Coach Duncan and Coach Harnett were original members of the Inaugural Jacksonville University Men's Lacrosse staff serving under former JU Head Coach Matthew Kerwick in 2010 and 2011. Today Coach Kerwick is the Associate Head Coach at Georgetown University. Coach Duncan and Coach Harnett continue the Jacksonville Lacrosse Club tradition and are pioneering professional lacrosse on the first coast as the inaugural coaching staff of Jacksonville's Professional Indoor Lacrosse Franchise the North American Lacrosse League's Jacksonville Bullies (www.JaxBullies.com).
